Robin Laverne Wilson the True Fighter Against Corporate Corruption and Big Money

Talk and anger are rampant in America. Our politicians are corrupt, and their big donor friends have altered our freedom into the leveraged servitude of hardworking Americans. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton performed spectacularly in their first debate, exactly how we knew they would without the presence of a rational third-party candidate. It was spectacular because it was a recipe for good entertainment: part reality television, part self-promotion, and the remainder the exasperated despair and embarrassment of the American people as the world looked on. They each claim to work for us, but their transparent and shameless lies offered the only implicit truthscoming from that debate

There is a similar performance happening on a smaller stage here in New York. Senator Chuck Schumer claims he is fighting for all New Yorkers while, behind our backs, he accepts enormous donations from the top 0.1%. Schumer advocates for Wall Street bigwigs, and for massive tax breaks for the uber-wealthy as the working class are fighting to keep their homes.Even after the 2008 recessions – caused by the greed of deregulated banks – Schumer doubled down his friendships with financial executives and pushed against efforts to regulate the banking industry. Unsurprisingly, Schumer was handsomely rewarded for his loyalty, gaining15% of their donations in 2009. This is entrenched American politics, the modern-day equivalent of apple pie.

And it continues and propogates today. In order to secure his perch elevated above and looking down upon the hoi palloi, Schumer now spreads his dubiously gained wealth from campaign contributions to buy support from fellow Democrats as he aspires to be the top Democrat in the United States Senate. This must be what they mean by trickle-down economics. Show me the leadership that Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, and fellow Democrats will bring as they lead us into their future, and I will show you a future that leads us well into the past. Maybe this is why the public is not allowed to hear or read about Clinton’s exorbitantly compensated speeches before the veryfinancial institutions that fund our financial and political slavery.

There is a ray of sunshine in this unnaturally pervasive storm of deceit and greed. Robin Laverne Wilson, Green Party nomineefor U.S. Senate in New York, is fighting for the people of New York. Even her campaign slogan, “we are running for our lives,” illustrates the principle differences between her and Schumer; she not only understands the importance of the 2016 elections, but she understands that it is not just her running for U.S. Senate. It is “we” – namely all of us – running for the purpose of freeing ourselves from debt and financial servitude thrust upon us by Schumer and his money-making keepers.

Robin is proudly independent from the corrupt and cash-infectedpolitical culture. “I’m not tethered to being accountable to any corporation, that I’ve made promises to. I’m not running for political office for money – believe me there is none, and I myself am drowning in student loan debt. I’m running for purpose, for us, for our lives, our future, our children’s future, for our own well-being and that of our planet.”

Long before running for public office, Robin was an activist. She has been fighting against injustice and corruption not onlyin America, but worldwideMost recently, Robin represented the citizens of the United States in protest of political suppression at Hofstra UniversityRobin arrived at Hofstra ahead of the presidential debate protesting the Commission's suppression of third party candidates from participating in thedebate. This decision was telling, and in direct contravention to democratic process and freedom. Robin vigilantly protested alongside presidential candidate Jill Stein, up until Robin’s wrongful arrest and detention ending her peaceful protest.

This is not a regular campaign cycle; 2016 is a year of transition and it is of crucial importance that our government represent us over corporate interests. Robin is not running for Senate, we all are. We are running for our lives. Your voice will be heard, and Robin is, and will continue to be your voice, no matter what she needs to do to make sure that you are heard.

In order to enact the changes that we need, we first need to vote out those career politicians who have no motivation to challengethe status quo. Chuck Schumer is not only a career politician, but he has become the status quo; his political aspirations and corporate greed have become indistinguishable. Peace, prosperity, and truth guides Robins’ candidacy, and is what will ultimately shift power from the controlling political and financial oligarchy back to the underrepresented masses.

  • Robin Stands with Congress in Nonviolent Anti-Terrorism Response, JASTA

    Written by Brienna Parson.

Robin Laverne Wilson, Green Party candidate to the United States Senate for New York State, adds her voice to that of the wide approval of the House, and the unanimous approval of the Senate, on the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act. The bill, more commonly known as JASTA, enacted into law Wednesday by a Congressional vote to override President Barack Obama's earlier veto, was the first override of his Presidency, and a telling one.

Whereas, the President disagreed with the effectiveness of the bill, Robin's colleagues in Congress stood steadfast in their decision knowing that JASTA would make key strides in antiterrorism by allowing US courts to bring complicit parties in the funding of terrorists to justice, namely Saudi Arabia, whose involvement in the perpetrated attacks of September 11th, 2001, is still being redacted from the public document.

Whereas the President believes it would be of disinterest to our foreign affairs, it is quite clear to all in Congress and beyond, that he means we cannot take those countries that are bankrolling terrorists, and certain other parties, to court without his direct approval. However, unlike, Saudi Arabia, the United States, as a democratic republic and not a kingdom, does not have to hinge solely upon one person's approval. Therefore Robin, is standing with many she may not completely agree with and saying in synchronicity with them:

"We've seen enough, and enough is enough.  We need this law, because we need justice to be served. Without justice, there can be no peace."

As for peace, Robin could not stand firmer with her peers, because on many ends of life's spectrum, peace is what we need most. Not only do we need to make peace in antiterrorism policies, in place of carpet-bombing, but we need peace in every aspect of our lives today, in place of desperate struggle statewide, nationwide, and worldwide. Robin, as well as those that worked to pass JASTA, agree with A.J. Muste in his reverberating words:

    "There is no way to peace;
    peace is the way."

The way of peace is the road towards progress, and that path is being marked by decisions like these. Robin is proud to serve those that will trailblaze further down that same path with her. Her thanks go out to all individuals that helped to make this step forward a reality for the people of the US, and the planet.

  • Robin Laverne Wilson Calls for a Halt of Spectra AIM Pipeline Construction

Robin called for an end of the Spectra AIM Pipeline while speaking to a group of supporters. The Spectra AIM pipeline is a planned expansion pipeline that will run through the Hudson Valley across the Indian Point property. The purpose of the pipeline is the bring fracked gas into New England and parts of Canada from the Mid-Atlantic according to Riverkeeper officials. Both Senator Schumer and Gillibrand have voiced their concerns and asked FERC to suspend construction, but the pipeline project has yet to be terminated.

Many citizens of the area are concerned that if a disaster occurs the explosion of the pipeline along Indian Point could put millions of people at risk and make the land uninhabitable for decades.

Robin stands with the concerned citizens who want to put an end to the Spectra AIM Pipeline. Robin understands the risks that the Spectra AIM Pipeline brings and the concerns the people of New York have about it. During a talk to supporters Robin voice the concern of New Yorkers when she said “that the Spectra AIM pipeline which is being built alongside Indian Point which is nuclear power plant that is leaking out radiation and can you imagine the devastation on top of devastation if that thing blows”. As U.S. Senator Robin Laverne Wilson won’t just fight to put an end to the Spectra AIM Pipeline but all pipelines that threaten our earth and our fellow citizens.

Robin’s campaign theme of Planet + People + Peace= Prosperity is one of putting our Earth first so that the people of the world can prosper to live healthy and successful lives. She believes that projects like the Spectra AIM Pipeline are a threat to people’s life, livelihoods, and safetyRobin sees the role of U.S. Senator as role to change the priorities in the Unites States. As U.S. Senator Robin will be a voice to make the Earth the top priority forcing Congress to find better solutions to save our planet. Unlike Senator Schumer who just voices concern Robin Laverne Wilson will be a U.S. Senator of action who won’t sell out the people of New York. Robin is somebody who is about results and not sound bites or photo ops.

  • Robin Laverne Wilson to Stand with Jill Stein for Open Debates

In direct contravention to the interests of U.S. citizens, the Commission on Presidential Debates decided to exclude third party candidates from the presidential debates. This decision is telling. The Democrats and Republicans have put forth two of the worst and least popular candidates in history, and demand that we choose the least offensive of the two, instead of allowing third party candidates fair consideration. It is indisputable proof that the powers-that-be do not represent your interests.

New York Senatorial candidate for the Green Party, Robin Laverne Wilson, believes in and supports the rights of citizens nationwide against the duopoly controlling us all. Robin will risk her personal well-being and possible arrest to represent you in protest of political suppression at Hofstra University on September 26, in Hempstead, Long Island.

This is not a regular campaign cycle; 2016 is a year of transition and it is of crucial importance that the government represent us over corporate interests. As she has always emphatically proclaimed, Robin is not running for Senate, we all are. We are running for our lives. Your voice will be heard, and Robin will be your voice.
